I have had the pleasure of knowing Heather & Chris for a while now. When they reached out to me about doing their engagement photos I was ecstatic. They told me little details about their love story unfolding at the Oregon Country Fair. I knew immediately that’s where we would do our shoot, they were totally on board! It was so much fun walking around the grounds in the off season and having them point to different spots and reminisce. We made it out just in time before the swarm of mosquitos. Cheers to happy hippy love!

Otter Crest Oregon Proposal

A surprise proposal at Otter Crest: Ben jones bridge

I was so stoked when Justin reached out to have me photograph his surprise proposal to his longtime girlfriend. Justin is also from Newport, Oregon (like me), so he found me through mutual people. He wanted to do his proposal at the Ben Jones bridge, which is a location I had done senior photos at a couple times before & also a location of big significance to Justin as his family had spread his moms ashes here the year before. This surprise proposal couldn’t have been more special. They brought flowers to leave in memory of his mom & the rain poured on us as he got down on one knee. It was as Oregon Coast as an Oregon Coast proposal could be, pouring rain, whipping wind and the overwhelming sound of king tide waves slapping against the rocks and bridge below.

God’s Thumb: Oregon Coast Engagement

I was so excited when Pj & Pear reached out to me about doing their engagement photos, knowing that they were up for an adventure, we decided to hike up God’s Thumb on the Oregon Coast. Lincoln City has some amazing beach spots & hikes, God’s thumb ranks very high on my list.

The hike is pretty short and sweet, but it can be very muddy depending on the season you go in. We went in the rainy season but luckily we only got sprinkled on a little bit. There are two trails the shorter one is not technically open to the public, so we took the longer trail to the top. Its about a two mile trip to the top and we giggled the whole way.

A big benefit of going in the off season is that there is less people. In recent years the God’s Thumb hike has become very popular for hikers and photographers alike!

Silver Falls is a beautiful spot for engagement photos. There are a number of different waterfalls along the trails around around the park. It’s best to plan a photo session on a week day because Silver Falls is a popular hiking spot and fills up on the weekends.

Mayra has the best style & is unbeatable when it comes to curating her wardrobe. I was so stoked when she told me she was gonna wear this beautiful red dress & I knew it would contrast nicely with the greenery of Silver Falls State park, she even did part of the trek in heels.

It was a cold October day but you wouldn’t know it from looking at these photos. I spent quite a bit of time queuing them from afar because I wanted to get a wide shot of the trail going behind the waterfall with M&L positioned perfectly within the natural framing of the landscape.

Alsea Falls is a beautiful spot to get engagement photos done. The walk to the falls is beautiful, surrounded by tree’s & has a very fairy-tale like feeling to it. When I found out that Alsea falls is where Alayna proposed to Jacq and that they were down to go back for their photos I was stoked! I got to adventure through the woods with these two lovely ladies and their troop of young boys. Their boys are smart & independent and had plenty of woods and wonders to keep them distracted while I did photos with their moms.
