BEAZELL MEMORIAL FOREST: An Eco-Friendly Wedding

Kristi and Colton: Nature lovers, yoga enthusiasts, and all-around super awesome humans—tied the knot in the heart of  Beazell Memorial Forest.

Located just outside of Corvallis, Oregon, off Kings Valley Highway, Beazell Memorial Forest is the perfect location for couples seeking a peaceful, nature-filled wedding day. This venue is perfect for couples who want to feel far from the city while still being conveniently close to town! One of the best things about Beazell is its minimalist versatility. The forest offers many unique options for structuring your wedding day, making it a fantastic spot for couples who want to center their day in nature.

For Kristi and Colton, this venue was a perfect fit. As nature lovers and frequent hikers in the Pacific Northwest, they couldn’t have chosen a more fitting place for their ceremony. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, they exchanged vows under the grand oak tree. The soft light filtering through the branches created a whimsical, almost fairytale-like atmosphere, enhancing the already stunning natural surroundings.

The reception was just as thoughtful and memorable. Held in a cozy barn, it featured a small dance floor at the center that grew as the night went on, filled with joy, laughter, and heartfelt celebrations. Kristi’s attention to detail and love for the planet shone through with her decision to pick her own bouquet and thrift glassware for each guest, creating unique and eco-friendly touches that minimized waste.

I felt incredibly honored to capture this day for Kristi and Colton— wonderful people who exude warmth, kindness, and a deep love for each other and the planet. I officially met Kristi & Colton at Willamette Valley Power Yoga in Corvallis (Willamette Valley Power Yoga), a hot yoga studio that leaves you feeling like you’re walking on air after every class. I knew from the minute Kristi and I chatted after yoga about their wedding day, that it was something I was going to love being a part of.

Their wedding day was a beautiful fusion of their love for nature, their mindfulness, and the start of their new journey together. The combination of the forest’s natural beauty, the overcast skies, and the love shared between the couple made for a day that was intimate, personal, and unforgettable. It was a celebration full of heart and connection, and I’m so grateful to have been a part of it.

Kristi also owns her own business, Sundew & Saffron, where she crafts small batches of tinctures, oils, and herbal blends—locally sourced and harvested by hand. If you're looking for your new favorite facial toner, you can find it here!
